during their vlive for shinee’s anniversary, “prism” was chosen by shawols as one of the top b-sides of the group. when discussing the song, kibum and minho shared stories regarding the recording process of the song.

kibum shared that “prism” initially didn’t have a climax, but rather a “sound”. jonghyun thought this part of the original song was a little lacking and talked with the producer. he told the producer he would write that part and did just that. kibum said, it was after this point, that it “became a meaningful song”. it was further mentioned that, because jonghyun wrote the song, his opinions were included a lot while making it. originally, there was no doubling rap in the chorus for minho but, while they were recording those parts, parts were added for him impromtly which minho thanked him for.
